Rough Coat is an exhibition of soft material systems. Using upholstery techniques combined with flexible building materials like stucco, the work presents a building sized blanket. Inspired by observations and close readings of little houses in South Central Los Angeles, and the weighty facades that have built-up over time, the project suggests an imaginary in the way buildings perform and how we, as inhabitants, participate in fashioning the layers of buildings.
