As part of the Machine Project Field Guide to the Gamble House in Pasadena, CA, we made a collection of chase loungers modeled as upturned roof sections of the Greene and Greene American Craftsman icon. Inspired by recent preservation techniques that saw the rotted out joists of the house restored by meticulously hand carving matching wood grain into epoxy filler putty, the surface relief of the loungers feature a record of wood grain and joint details carefully documented in the house and carved into sintra board.
